How to do it:

First, open Command Prompt on Windows (search for “CMD”) or Terminal on Mac.

Make sure your computer and the camera are on the same subnet. For instance, if your PC is at 10.0.0.100 with subnet 255.255.255.0, the camera should be something like 10.0.0.150 on the same subnet. If they’re not aligned, the ping will fail.

In the command window, type ping followed by the camera’s IP address and press Enter.

If you see “Reply from…”, the camera is online. If you get “Request Timed Out” or “Destination Host Unreachable”, then something’s wrong—probably a network/subnet issue.
