TCP Windowing Concept

TCP is a connection Oriented Protocol

Data is transmitted in the form of segments

Window is the maximum amount of data that can be sent before an Ack is received

Windowing : maximum amount of data that can be sent before receiving an acknowledgement form the receiver

Congestion : When an interface has to transmit more data that it can handle

Congestion Control: TCP Slow start which will increase the Window size exponentially ( 1, 2,4,8) and decrease its size when there is a congestion

When an interface becomes congested ,TCP will experience slow start
Packet drop occurs and window size will be reduced
