A Discord status is a short message that appears next to your name and on your profile. There are also default Discord statuses that control specific modes on your Discord application. The default Discord statuses are online, idle, do not disturb, and invisible. The do not disturb status stops desktop notifications, and the invisible status will make you appear offline.

You can also set a custom status on Discord mobile. A custom status allows you to add any emoji and text that you want to your profile. When creating a custom status you will need to choose when it will clear. If you would like the status to be permanent until you change it manually, then you will want to select the “Don’t Clear” option.
