Описание к видео Cooking gas, water & newspapers cut off to Indian diplomat in Pakistan

Tensions between India and Pakistan have escalated after Islamabad reportedly imposed targeted restrictions on basic supplies to the Indian High Commission. According to a report, senior Indian government sources described the move as “deliberate and premeditated,” calling it a violation of the Vienna Convention, which safeguards the work and dignity of diplomats.

The curbs have affected essential items such as cooking gas, drinking water and even newspapers, making life increasingly difficult for Indian diplomats and their families in Islamabad. These actions come in the wake of India’s successful Operation Sindoor and its suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty. Officials suspect the restrictions are “petty retaliation” by Pakistan’s ISI following recent tensions.

Reports state that gas pipelines installed at the High Commission have had their supply intentionally cut. Vendors previously supplying gas cylinders have been ordered not to sell to Indian staff, forcing them to seek costly and scarce alternatives in the open market.

The water supply has also been targeted. Deliveries of clean, mineral water to the High Commission have been stopped, with all suppliers in Islamabad told to halt sales. As tap water is unsafe to drink without heavy filtration, this has created serious challenges for diplomats and their families.

In addition, newspaper deliveries have been blocked, which Indian officials believe is an attempt to limit access to local news and viewpoints. Sources warned that such measures violate the Vienna Convention and could further damage already strained India–Pakistan relations. Reports also suggest that India may respond with reciprocal actions against Pakistani diplomats, amid increased surveillance of Indian staff in Islamabad.
