Welcome to Day 4 of our Alaskan Disney Cruise! Join my family and I on our 7-Night Alaskan Cruise from Vancouver on the Disney Wonder! Thank you so much for watching!
You join us on Thursday, September 15, 2022, for a day in Skagway, Alaska! We started the morning with a delicious breakfast at Cabanas. Since most of the cruisers were off the ship exploring Skagway, I took you around every inch of the Disney Wonder on a ship tour! I covered every deck and everything the Disney Wonder had to offer, including all dining options, entertainment spaces, nightclubs, lounges, pools, shops, the spa, recreation spots, and youth clubs. I also stopped in our family's rooms, rooms 6542 and 6543, for quick room tours.
Next up, we headed to the Walt Disney Theatre for our White Pass Scenic Railway port adventure. After checking in for our excursion and filing off the boat, we made the short walk to our train patiently waiting for us right on the cruise ship pier. We boarded the vintage train car and rode up the Yukon Route Railway for 20.4 miles. We climbed 3,000 feet to the White Pass Summit, retracing the original route of the Yukon Gold Rush of the 1890's. We sped by Bridal Veil Falls, Inspiration Point, Dead Horse Gulch, Summit Lake, and the original Klondike Trail of 1898. We also viewed some incredible waterfalls, cliffs, valleys, rivers, bridges, and tunnels.
The climb up to White Pass Summit clocked in at about 1 hour and 25 minutes. The descent back down into Skagway also clocked in at about 1 hour and 25 minutes. The total amount of time spent on this excursion, from checking in at the Walt Disney Theatre to exiting the train, was about 3 hours and 34 minutes.
After our exciting trip aboard the White Pass Scenic Railway, we explored and shopped around downtown Skagway. We picked up some souvenirs and chocolate fudge before stepping back aboard the Disney Wonder, where hot chocolate and warm chocolate chip cookies greeted us at the gangway. We dined at Triton's for dinner, where I ordered 2 soups and inhaled both of them. We saw many characters milling about Decks 3, 4, and 5, and met Minnie Mouse in her classic red polka dot dress!
We continued the night with our newly established cruise night routine, shopping at White Caps and Mickey's Mainsail and checking out Crown & Fin Pub for their late-night snacks!
