The 4 BEST Credit Cards For Beginners (2020)

This is my thoughts on the BEST credit cards you should get in 2020. There are a lot of credit card options for you to choose from in 2020 and just about the same amount of people reviewing them! I love credit cards because if used correctly, you can use them to your advantage!

1. Amazon Prime Rewards Card - This is actually a really great card if you are the type of person who orders basically everything off of Amazon. It’s a really effective way to earn 5x points on purchases that would normally just get you 1x points with other cards. You do need Amazon prime which most people have, and again, is highly worth it!

2. Chase Sapphire Reserve - This has been the most popular card for quite some time now. It was a fierce competitor to the AmEx. Chase’s original sign up promotion for the Chase Sapphire was insane! Although it has dropped a little now, it’s still a really great promotion. The Chase Sapphire is also amazing for travel, since your points are worth 1.5x when redeemed on flights & hotels. You also get access to Priority Pass which gets you into airport lounges. Although the annual fee is $550, the $300 travel bonus eases that quite a bit.

3. American Express Platinum - I have this as a personal card but also as a card for my business. It has similar benefits to the Sapphire but is still great. You also get access to the Centurion Lounge, which paired with the Priority Pass from the Sapphire, you get into just about every single airport lounge. American Express also has incredible customer service! The AmEx Platinum also gets you 5x points on flights/prepaid hotels if booked on AmEx travel.

4. DiscoverIt - This is an incredible card for cash back. They are currently offering a promotion where they will match the cash back you earn in the first year. Since there is no minimum required to redeem points, it makes it easy to get your cash back into your account. This is a good card to use on purchases that your other cards would just give you 1x points on.
