Centre’s 'National Capital Territory of Delhi (Amendment) Bill': Explained | Faye D'Souza

The Parliament has passed the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi (Amendment) Bill, 2021. The Rajya Sabha on Wednesday, March 24 saw high drama with MPs of parties like the BJD, SP, Congress and the YSR-Congress staging a walkout. Delhi CM and AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal has also condemned the bill. This Bill effectively increases the powers of the lieutenant governor (LG) of Delhi and greatly reduces powers of the elected state government of Delhi.
