MOUNT HEALTHY, Ohio (Joe Webb) - Mt. Healthy police Sgt. Nick Michael could only shake his head after watching surveillance video recorded Saturday morning, Jan. 16, at the local Speedway store.

"You just wonder how somebody can do something like that to another."

The video showed store clerk Aaron Burmeister starting his car at the end of his shift and going back inside to let it warm up. Another man climbs in the car and Burmeister runs out to stop him. The man backs over the 41-year-old clerk and drives off. Burmeister broke both legs. One was crushed. Doctors surgically installed a rod in that leg to repair it.

"He's going to be confined to a wheelchair for at least the next two months and a long rehabilitation after that," said Burmeister's sister Holly Rider-Milkovich. "He's really concerned about his ability to care for his children. Of course he wants to see who did this held accountable."

Burmeister did not get a good look at the driver. He could only describe him as a black man in a knit hat. Police are looking for the car, a silver 2004 Malibu Maxx. It has 2016 Ohio plates with the number DMS6236.

Burmeister has two teenage children. His family has created a GoFundMe account to help with expenses.
