Chris McDermott is a Boston-based musician whose career spans over three decades, encompassing roles as a guitarist, composer, singer, producer, and educator. His musical style seamlessly blends blues, rock, and jazz, characterized by a strong emphasis on improvisation and dynamic live performances. McDermott's ability to reinvent himself while maintaining a distinctive personal touch has earned him recognition across various musical genres.

Beginning his career as a sideman, McDermott toured with blues legends such as Eddie Kirkland, Carey Bell, Nappy Brown, Zora Young, Marva Wright, and Toni Lynn Washington. As a bandleader, he has collaborated with renowned musicians including Bernard Purdie, Clyde Stubblefield, Rakalam Bob Moses, John Lockwood, and Matthew Garrison. His discography includes ten albums and numerous singles, with his latest project, "Dirty Work," offering a reimagined take on Steely Dan's music. This release has garnered airplay on 93 stations across the U.S., Spain, Latvia, Belarus, and Bulgaria.

In addition to his performance career, McDermott has contributed to the music industry as a producer and staff writer for Warner/Chappell Publishing. He shares his expertise through teaching roles at Berklee College of Music and as a course director at Full Sail University. His commitment to live, improvisational music continues to captivate audiences worldwide.
