A free-to-play online action-RPG designed for the Asian market by the South Korean studio Tripod. The game is set in a fantasy realm, whose people managed to avoid an invasion of evil thanks to the titular Ark.

Lost Ark is an online action RPG in the free-to-play model, similar in general to other popular games of the genre, such as Path of Exile, Diablo or Torchlight. The game was created by the large Korean studio Tripod and was originally prepared for the Asian market, but over time it was decided to make it also available in the West in an English-language version.

The game featured a full-fledged campaign with extensive missions, interactive dialogues with NPCs and cutscenes. The story is set in an epic fantasy world. Centuries ago it was protected from the forces of evil thanks to the eponymous magical artifact - the Ark. Centuries after those events, the Ark became only the subject of stories and legends, and people stopped believing in its existence. The players' goal in the campaign is to find it before Kazeroth - the leader of the demonic legions, who wants to use it to take over the world.

Gameplay is shown in isometric view. All kinds of character's actions are made by using the mouse or keyboard shortcuts. Starting the game, we choose one of 18 available character classes, which in many cases represent an original approach to the classic archetypes known from RPG games. For example, the Devil Hunter uses three types of firearms (pistols, shotgun and rifle) and can change them instantly depending on the situation on the battlefield. The Arcanist, on the other hand, uses magic cards whose effects are randomly generated from the available powers.

In addition, players can modify the skills of their heroes and adapt them to their own fighting style. In addition to the traditional extermination of hordes of minor opponents, there are also multi-stage battles with powerful bosses, which are designed in the fashion of full-blooded slasher action games. In addition to a wide range of PvE activities - which can be done in teams, together with other users - there is no shortage of PvP type attractions (such as duels).

There are also many elements known from the MMORPG genre. In the world of Lost Ark there are hub cities, where we interact socially with other players. We can also collect resources (e.g. cutting down trees or becoming a miner) and do crafts, dig for treasures or fish. An interesting option is the sea exploration, thanks to which we discover new locations and tasks.

Lost Ark uses the Unreal Engine technology and features exceptionally spectacular graphics, the quality of which exceeds what fans of classic hack'and'slash games are used to.
