A film festival to promote a culture of peace ended on Wednesday in Italy. Faith, art and cinema characterized the 25th Religion Today Film Festival. The event took place in northern Italy and hosted 42 films in competition from 23 different countries, with a focus on the theme of "dialogue, encounter and the search for peace between religions and cultures." Founder of the Religion Today Film Festival, Lia Beltrami, joins to tell us more about this event and how art and cinema can be told for the pursuit of inter-religious dialogue. 25 years ago when Beltrami started the festival, she received a blessing from Saint John Paul II and an invitation to be bridge builders. This year the event took place while Pope Francis was in Kazakhstan. Beltrami discusses how these figures inspire her work. The founder of the film festival is currently in New York for a photography exhibition which opened last year at the Vatican by the pope. Beltrami shares more about that.
