This is video #085 in my playthrough of Final Fantasy IV: The After Years for the PC. This is episode 17 of The Crystals: The Planet Eater.

Previously, the party finished exploring floors B11-B13 in the Depths. They defeated Lunar Leviathan and Lunar Bahamut, both nasty bosses, and obtained the Hero's Shield and the Ultima Weapon. Then, they returned to the Subterrane for a little grinding. Now, they will take on the game's final boss.

Subterrane:

The party resumes on floor B12 in the Subterrane. Rosa equips the Twin Stars accessory to halve her MP usage in battle.

The party takes the interdimensional elevator to the Lunar Whale.

Lunar Whale (time 0:32):

Then, they take the interdimensional elevator to the Depths.

Depths (time 0:42):

The party arrives on floor B1. They take the interdimensional elevator down to floor B13, the last refuge before the final boss. They rest until a waxing moon to power up white magic.

Downstairs, the party takes the teleporter to the Bottommost Depths. When they go upstairs to the northern section of the room, a scene takes place. They have found something truly disgusting.

The party enters battle against the ???. To start out, all they need to do is attack. Eventually, the mouth will disappear, leaving a white scab. The ??? will attack with Drain and Osmose, but it is not too worrisome.

After the first bout, such as it is, a scene takes place. The party meets the Creator.

Afterwards, the second round takes place. It is not much of a battle. The Creator will only react when attacked. It starts by putting up Reflect and then Element Drain. Then, it can use Blinding Glare to inflict damage and status ailments.

After the second bout, another scene takes place with the Creator.

Afterwards, the third round begins. The Creator will no longer wait to be attacked. It uses powerful spells like Flare. It can still use Blinding Glare, as well. However, this phase will fall quickly.

Another scene takes place after the third bout. A brief battle scene takes place, but it does not last long. Then, a lengthy sequence of scenes takes place, reminiscent of the intro to the final boss battle in Final Fantasy IV.

After that, the battle with the Creator truly begins. Before the party can damage this enemy, they must use a Crystal as an item against it. The Creator can dispel the party's buffs with Black Hole, so don't go overboard. However, putting Slow on the Creator is a great idea. It uses Mutation to shift its elemental weaknesses, so stick with non-elemental spells or summons, such as Flare or Bahamut. The Detonation and Propagation attacks damage the entire party for a good amount of damage. Disintegration deals massive damage to a single target, so your White Mage should know Arise.

After the party defeats the Creator, a scene takes place.

Then, they gain control on floor B13 of the Depths. It isn't over yet! The party must now flee. The interdimensional elevator is not working. Fortunately, there is not a timer. All the encounters will be back attacks, so invert the party's rows.

The party backtracks through floor B12. On B11, the Creator will catch up. However, it will not take much fighting to get away from it.

The party backtracks through B10 and B9. When they reach floor B8, a scene with the little "Maenad?" takes place. The Creator will catch up to deal a few more blows. Fortunately, the party will have some unexpected help.

Another scene takes place after the battle.

We regain control of the party on B8.

They backtrack to B7, where the Creator catches up again. The party has some more help escaping.

As the party backtracks through B6, there is another fixed battle with the Creator. As before, they have help getting away.

The party flees through floor B5, and the Creator catches up once more. This is getting repetitious.

On floor B4, another battle with the Creator takes place as the party reaches the stairway on the south side of the northern ring. As before, the party has some help getting away.

When the party reaches the southern stairway on B4, the last fixed encounter with the Creator takes place. The Maenad finally finishes it off with Meteor.

When the party takes the southern stairway on B4, the final scenes begin. I will show them in the next video.
