The Bis Key for Bb! So many beginners don’t know how to use this very important fingering for Bb and end up doing all sorts of weird movements with their index fingers.

The Bis key is a fundamental fingering for Bb, equally important to the side Bb.

But when you are using the Bis key, you can leave the index finger down on it… even when you are playing other notes as this won’t affect their pitch.

If you are playing say an F major scale, then you can play the whole scale with the index finger down on the Bis key and this will make your life easier (of course, lift for index for C and palm notes).
