Laredo Airport, situated in Texas very close to the US / Mexican border is one of the places where you can enjoy a lot of spectacular aircraft. When I visited in October last year, I caught so many incredible legendary aircraft, most of them while spotting from the back of a pick up truck! Day one already started with a bang, because I caught my first flying Douglas DC-9! It was 57 year old N784TW from Ameristar, which through its long life has flown for airlines such as Continental Airlines and Air Canada. Onbelievable to see this oldie fly so actively in this day and age! I also got two MD-80's from USA Jet and Aeronaves, a Boeing 737-400 from Aeronaves and also some prop action in the form of a Swearingen Metroliner and two Saab 340's. There was also an IFL Group Boeing 727 overhead, which I could see a lot closer on later days. Somewhat more ordinary traffic was an American Eagle E170 and the United Express E145 we flew to Laredo on.
