Recognition of Donyi Polo Day Lauded by KKG Naharlagun–Nirjuli

Naharlagun, Dec 31:The Kumko Kargu Gamgi (KKG), Naharlagun–Nirjuli has warmly welcomed and lauded the Government of Arunachal Pradesh’s decision to declare 31st December as Donyi Polo Day, following an official notification issued by the General Administration Department.

In a thanksgiving video briefing released today, KKG leaders expressed their deep gratitude to the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh and the state government for recognizing Donyi Polo Day as a local holiday for all Tani Belt districts, describing the move as a historic and long-awaited recognition of the indigenous Dony Polo faith.

The organization stated that the declaration will go a long way in preserving, promoting and strengthening the cultural, spiritual and traditional values of the Tani community. KKG further appealed to the people to observe Donyi Polo Day with reverence, unity and social harmony, and to pass on the rich indigenous heritage to the younger generation.

The KKG also thanked all community elders, religious leaders and well-wishers whose collective efforts contributed to this significant recognition by the state government.
