The final transformation, Hu-Man, is unlocked after defeating the Vampire Dragon and watching the credits. The only real purpose for Hu-Man is acquiring the last "Stone". In terms of overall power I still think Lion-Man is better due to a far better attack range.

If you chose a Girl instead, the transformation is actually called Hu-Girl.

Wonder Boy: The Dragon's Trap is an Indie remake of the original Wonder Boy III: The Dragon's Trap. The game is a direct sequel to Wonder Boy in Monster Land, where Wonder Boy defeats the Meka Dragon but is cursed into the form of a Lizard-Man. Now Wonder Boy must travel the world to undo the curse while getting cursed into many other forms as well.

The Dragon's Trap is the inspiration behind Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom. This version of the game also has a female protagonist you can choose to play as instead of Wonder Boy.
