Tæppa's Tump is a female North West Morris side with a mixed band, which was formed in 1981.

Our name is taken from one of the area's outstanding archaeological sites, the burial mound of "Tæppa" a Saxon chieftain who gave his name to Taplow, which is now a very pleasant village on the outskirts of Maidenhead. The burial mound was first excavated in 1883 and yielded a collection of Saxon grave goods, which are now in the British Museum and are second only to the Sutton Hoo Burial Hoard.
Each year we donate to a chosen charity.

Oxford Folk Festival 19th-21st April 2024
Like a phoenix from the flames, or perhaps more like a duckling that dreams of becoming a swan, members of the former volunteer committee are continuing the folk festival after the sad demise (after a brilliant decade) of Oxford Folk Weekend. We are now, with Tim Healey's permission, the Oxford Folk Festival 2024. We have a domain name (oxfordfolkfestival.org.uk) and even a nascent website, thanks to donated time from Jack Evans. This year we are ALL volunteers, as there is no budget, but we have been heartened by the generosity of our many supporters who have decided to donate their time as performers or behind-the-scenes helpers to make this event a success. Be assured that as usual, the streets will be full of colour and music from the morris dancers, while key locations in the centre of town will be showcasing our Oxford and Oxon performers.
