On September 21, 2024, I, Trooper First Class Tyler Gentry, was patrolling on East Street near Interstate 49, when I observed a gray motorcycle turning onto the entrance ramp to Interstate 49. I turned behind it and began following it as it merged left onto
the interstate. Once it merged, the motorcycle began operating at a high rate of speed. The camera on my unit activated when I reached 100 miles per hour, and the motorcycle was still pulling away from me on the interstate. I used my in car radio to try and see where any additional State Police units were at, and then I activated my emergency lights and sirens. Once we
reached a straighter section of the interstate, I reached speeds of 140 miles per hour attempting to catch up to the motorcycle.

Approximately one minute into this incident, I was able to get approximately 50 yards away from the suspect on the motorcycle, and I was able to give a description of the operator. While I gave the description to my dispatch, the operator looks quickly over his left shoulder and makes a lane change into the inside lane. Both of us are traveling between 90 and 100 miles per hour during this time. At approximately 3 minutes into this incident, while the motorcycle was in the outside lane, I moved to the inside lane and pulled forward until my face was even with the motorcycle operator's. I made hand motions for him to pull over
and then I moved my unit back behind him. Once I moved back behind him, the operator continued on the interstate for approximately one quarter of a mile before pulling the motorcycle over on shoulder.

I then performed a felony takedown of the operator. When I approached him, I realized that I had one previous encounter with the operator a few weeks prior. I placed the operator, Jeffrey Troxel, under arrest at this time. I asked him if he had gotten his
endorsement and he told me that he had not. After removing all of his items from his pockets, I placed him in the back seat of my unit. Troxel stated that he did not know that I was pursuing him. He stated that he had earphones in to drown out the noise from his motorcycle. His motorcycle was also not equipped with any rear view mirrors. I transported Troxel to the Miller County Jail and charged him with the following: Reckless Driving, Riding Without an Operator's
License, and No Liability Insurance
