Himalayan Buddhist Society Manali was formed in the year 1946 by Thakur Mangal Chand Rals and Wazir of Lahual 1887-1969 with a vision of Universal Peace and well being of all Sentient being he was anlightened and multi faceted personality being an accomplished administrator, Scholar explorer, painter, Photographer and an expert practioner of Tibetan Medicine.

The society has been promoting artistic, Intellectual, Cultural, Social and Religious heritage of Lahual, Spiti, Ladakh, Zanskar, Pangi and kinnar.

It also serves as a converging paint for all Buddhist and Gompas in the Religion.
