When visiting Yellowstone, my family and I always choose new trails to hike. This year, we chose Wraith Falls. Every year we drive by the parking lot to the trailhead and say we would like to hike this some time and then never do so. We changed that this year, instead of just talking about it we actually did it. The trail is amazingly groomed and absolutely beautiful. With how short it is, it is now one that we will be doing every year, like our hike to Trout Lake during the spawn.

This hidden gem should be put on your bucket list of hikes in Yellowstone. It is a pretty popular hike. However, compared to other areas of the park, you are typically the only ones hiking it. At times you may have a hiker or two pass, but for most of the gorgeous scenery you are alone with the sounds of the babbling Lupine Creek and wind through the trees, maybe an occasional animal scurrying by.

This hike is great for beginners, families with small kids, those that may need a little assistance in hiking, and those wanting short hikes to do. This hike is about 1 mile out and back.

I always take a picture of the trailhead map and ALWAYS bring our bear spray with us. This trail is super safe, but you always want to be prepared in bear country.
