This is a combat system demonstration.

In Rituals & War: Shan Hai,
the essence of combat lies in reading the enemy’s intent ahead of time,
and responding with the right action before the strike is ever made.

Before each turn begins,
the player plans a sequence of actions
based on the enemy’s intent and their own combo strategy.

The order, timing, and commitment of these actions
gradually shape the outcome of the turn.

Your actions create chain reactions.
The enemy’s actions do as well.

When both sides act simultaneously,
their decisions intertwine along the timeline,
creating emergent and situational combat outcomes.

In this world,
Qi determines life and death,
and also serves as the core combat resource.

Qi can be stored,
transformed,
and circulated through different acupoints within the body.

By chaining sword techniques,
Yin Qi can be charged into Yang Qi.
Releasing the power stored in Yang Qi
allows the execution of stronger sword techniques.

As a master of Qi control,
you can also deliberately guide Qi
to circulate through multiple acupoints within your body.

Sensitivity to Qi
is the only capital a mortal possesses
when standing against gods.
