The inaugural run of the Himalayan Hash House Harriers took place on Monday 15 October at 4.30 pm. Six years later and hash 300 took place at Bramhakhel by the road to Sankhu in the Kathmandu Valley, Nepal. The GM at that time was a British Gorkha officer who was selling commemorative t-shirts for 55 rupees, considerably less than HeBitch currently sells them for. Thirty-two years later and the hash still occasionally runs from this spot.
In those days there were two hashes — a mixed hash and the original men’s hash. Needless to say, this is a film of the men’s hash.
Great to see a few faces who have hashed in Nepal in recent years including Brian ‘Gnasher’ Hollander, Father Bill ‘The Fox’ Robbins, James Giambrione, Don ‘Griot’ Clark, John ‘Grumblewald’ Grunwald and Brian ‘Slow Drip’ Fawcett.
