যিকর হলো- আল্লাহর নৈকট্য লাভের অদ্বিতীয় উপায়। মুসনাদে আহমাদের এক বর্ণনায় যিকরকে সর্বোত্তম আমল বলে অভিহিত করা হয়েছে। পবিত্র কুরআনুল কারীমের একাধিক জায়গায় যে আমলটি অধিক পরিমাণে করতে বলা হয়েছে, তা হলো আল্লাহর যিকর। যিকর আত্মার খোরাক, শয়তানের কুমন্ত্রণা প্রতিরোধের কার্যকর হাতিয়ার, বিপদাপদ থেকে রক্ষা ও দুশ্চিন্তা দূর করার উপায় এবং অল্প সময়ে বিপুল সওয়াব ও মুমিন জীবনে সৌভাগ্যের সোপান।
