Disguised as an effort to advance green energy in California, Padilla's "Smart Grid Technology" bill gives utility companies the ability to turn off all the power to a house by remote control, shutting down electrically powered medical devices, refrigeration, lights, and communication devices.

Padilla's SB 407, Water Efficiency bill, mandates costly plumbing changes to pre-1994 housing, adversely affecting a huge majority of San Fernando Valley homes, rather than offering tax credit incentives for voluntary improvements.

Alex Padilla's priorities are grossly misplaced. From costly legislation that requires restaurants to list calorie counts, to raising the cigarette tax by $1.50 a pack, to spending millions of dollars of tax payer money on a children's museum that never opened, he's shown time and again that he's a major contributor to California's unbalanced budget, its $600 billion dollar debt, and the flood of businesses that left California and took desperately-needed jobs with them.
