Without a doubt, Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter are two of the biggest fighting games ever produced. But when Darkstalkers entered the arena with a roster of monsters it seemed both Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter had serious competition. But as time went on it was obvious Darkstalkers was doomed from a lasting legacy of new releases. So, what exactly happened to the Darkstalkers franchise, and why haven't there been any modern attempts at a new game?
