Volos Greece 4K Summer Evening Walk - Panagia Goritsa, Agia Triada, & Agios Konstantinos Church Tour

The Feast of the Dormition (Dekapentavgoustos) holds deep spiritual significance in the Orthodox Church, where believers turn their hearts to the Virgin Mary for comfort and protection. For fifteen days, the bells ring at dusk, calling the faithful to gather and sing the Small and Great Supplicatory Canons, hymns filled with reverence, devotion, and a sense of mourning as they seek solace from the Mother of Christ.

On this serene summer evening, our journey starts at the beautiful Panagia Tripa, a cave church located at the base of Goritsa Hill. This special place of worship dates back to 1892, with expansions added in 1950 to accommodate more visitors. The picturesque scenery around the church features a stunning blend of the wavy sea and a cloudy sky. From this peaceful spot, we make our way toward the bustling Anavros Beach.

Along the route, we pass the famous Centaurus sculpture, a symbol of the weather and mythology tied to the Pelion region, as well as a small chapel dedicated to Agia Paraskevi. Upon arriving at Anavros Beach, the vibrant summer ambiance greets us as locals and tourists begin to gather around popular spots like Avra, Anamma, and Almpyra restaurants.

We then make our way through Anavros Park and visit the Agia Triada Church, pausing to admire its serene interior. Continuing toward the Agios Konstantinos area, we pass through lively streets lined with cafes and restaurants filled with people enjoying their evening meals and drinks.

At Agios Konstantinos Church, we explore the rich history of this landmark. Built in 1936, it stands where an older church dedicated to Saints Constantine and Helen once existed. The current structure was designed by Aristotelis Zachos and inaugurated with great fanfare, representing the heart of religious life in this vibrant neighborhood.

We conclude the walk outside Agios Konstantinos, where the sound of the bells invites us to the Paraklesis service for the Virgin Mary, surrounded by the peaceful glow of the summer evening.

Βόλος Ελλάδα 4K Καλοκαιρινός Βραδινός Περίπατος - Παναγία Γορίτσα, Αγία Τριάδα & Εκκλησία Αγίου Κωνσταντίνου

Η γιορτή της Κοιμήσεως της Θεοτόκου (Δεκαπενταύγουστος) έχει μεγάλη πνευματική σημασία στην Ορθόδοξη Εκκλησία. Για δεκαπέντε ημέρες, οι καμπάνες ηχούν το σούρουπο, καλώντας τους πιστούς να συγκεντρωθούν και να ψάλλουν τους Μικρούς και Μεγάλους Παρακλητικούς Κανόνες, γεμάτους ευλάβεια και θρήνο, αναζητώντας παρηγοριά από την Παναγία.

Αυτό το όμορφο καλοκαιρινό βράδυ, ξεκινάμε από την Παναγία Τρύπα, μια ξεχωριστή εκκλησία σε σπηλιά στους πρόποδες του λόφου Γορίτσα. Χτισμένη το 1892 και επεκταθείσα το 1950, η εκκλησία προσφέρει μαγευτική θέα στη θάλασσα και τον ουρανό. Μετά την επίσκεψή μας εδώ, κατευθυνόμαστε προς την παραλία του Αναύρου.

Κατά τη διάρκεια της διαδρομής μας, περνάμε από το διάσημο γλυπτό του Κενταύρου, σύμβολο της μυθολογίας του Πηλίου, και ένα μικρό παρεκκλήσι αφιερωμένο στην Αγία Παρασκευή. Στην παραλία του Αναύρου, ο κόσμος συγκεντρώνεται για να απολαύσει το καλοκαιρινό βράδυ στα δημοφιλή εστιατόρια "Αύρα", "Άναμμα" και "Αλμπύρα".

Στη συνέχεια, περνάμε από το πάρκο του Αναύρου και φτάνουμε στην εκκλησία της Αγίας Τριάδας, όπου θαυμάζουμε το εσωτερικό της πριν συνεχίσουμε προς τον Άγιο Κωνσταντίνο. Καθώς περπατάμε, συναντάμε πολυσύχναστα καφέ και εστιατόρια, όπου οι επισκέπτες απολαμβάνουν τα ροφήματα και τα γεύματά τους.

Τέλος, φτάνουμε στην ιστορική εκκλησία του Αγίου Κωνσταντίνου, η οποία χτίστηκε το 1936 σε ένα σημείο όπου βρισκόταν ένα ξύλινο εκκλησάκι αφιερωμένο στους Αγίους Κωνσταντίνο και Ελένη. Η νέα εκκλησία σχεδιάστηκε από τον Αριστοτέλη Ζάχο και εγκαινιάστηκε με μεγάλη λαμπρότητα το 1936.

Ολοκληρώνουμε τον περίπατό μας έξω από την εκκλησία του Αγίου Κωνσταντίνου, με τις καμπάνες να καλούν τους πιστούς για την Παράκληση στην Παναγία, μέσα στην γαλήνια καλοκαιρινή ατμόσφαιρα.
