Had some fun test machining grade 5 titanium ( Ti 6Al4V). dont have coolant yet. But it went kind of Good anyways. during test mill rpm is between 500-1000. first I used a scrap endmill to slot of a piece that I could mount in the vice. Then I switched over to a sandvik 1/2" solid carbide endmill. (12,7mm) surface speed 78feet/min. (23,8m/min). it sounded the best and no smoke came. if I tried to increase surface speed during the test cuting it started smoking and chips started welding to the side of the cut. i Will do more test milling when I have flood coolant.
