How to Pop Up On A Surfboard | Learn How to Surf Series

Everyone’s favorite part of surfing is standing to their feet, but in order to do so you must learn how to pop up on your surfboard.

If you watched the first three videos in our learn to surf series, you will already know how to do the following:
1. Choose the appropriate surf gear
2. Manage your surfboard on the beach and have good board control in the water
3. Turn and stop your board in a controlled fashion from a prone (or laying down) position

Once you understand these concepts, you are ready to move onto this fourth video, which goes over how to stand up (also known as the “pop up” or “slide up”) on your surfboard.

We have two main techniques we go over, one which is a more beginner technique for those who may have mobility issues, and the other which is the advanced technique.
