Today’s video will show you “Mladost” district in Sofia, Bulgaria.

With the help of a friendly local superhero we managed to walk through the whole neighborhood
and capture a relaxed autumn Sunday in Mladost! The day was sunny and very windy, however, the
streets were full of people.

Let us begin with the history of the neighborhood – “Mladost” (meaning “Youth”) is located in the
south – east end of the capital and is quite close to “Vitosha” mountain. It consist of 4 micro districts
– “Mladost 1a”, “Mladost 1 “ , “ Mladost 2 “ , “ Mladost 3” and “ Mladost 4” .

As of 2012 the area’s population is estimated to be around 115K which makes “Mladost” the second
largest district in Sofia. Тhe district is fairly new compared to the ones situated in the western parts
of Sofia and from the 1980s until now it hasn’t stopped growing – it is full of residential complexes as well as commercial buildings. It is one of the most modern and fast developing areas in the city – the numerous business buildings as well as the largest in Central and Eastern Europe Business Park
contribute to the flourishing economy of the neighborhood.

The public transport is very well organized and there is a metro station in every micro districts.
“Mladost” has vast parks and is full of restaurants and bars, as well as supermarkets and local stores.
