I've been to many stunning places in the lower 48 but always knew I was only a short distance from the ease of modern life. As I sat upon a lichen-covered rock on a no-name stream far north in the tundra, I remember thinking, "I am in a place where very few humans have been." I could feel the scarring on the bubble I keep around myself slipping away, allowing the grandeur to pour into my soul and remind me there's still much to fight for. Alaska showed me sites whose sheer beauty made me cry tears of gratitude. I met beings of the human and more-than-human world that showed me the goodness in all. The main goal is to take my fellow humans into the wild places and show them how to stop being "Takers" and remember how to be "Caretakers." A Caretaker recognizes that all life is sacred and no one life is more or less important than another. Caretakers help their communities by showing them the grandeur of Nature and helping them develop a lifelong relationship with the more than human world. Once we do that, we begin to see how our short-sighted decisions affect all beings.

T3Photgraphy is owned by Tom Brown III (also known as T3). T3 has the ability to help people see nature through his eyes. This leads them to understand that spectacular natural beauty can be found anywhere, no matter where you may be. Photography has always been part of Tom's life. Since getting his first Nikon he has had a great appreciation for the small yet beautiful things that most people pass by. When not teaching wilderness living skills, taking photos, or writing, Tom is an avid fly-fisherman & traditional archer. Most importantly, he is a student of life, always trying to unwrap the mysteries of how humans, nature and the more-than-human interact with each other.
What drives me, and all that I do, is to show people that all around them, no matter where they are, unique, stunningly beautiful little things are around us at all times. If they take a moment to stop and look at them, their day will be that much better. It will deepen their connection with nature and the more-than-human world. Mainly, I tell people to ‘look small’ to show them that there is beauty everywhere. What saddens me is that most never see it. It goes unnoticed and unappreciated like so many other things in their lives. The moral? Take time to look small. It will help sharpen and hone your awareness, which will lead to much better, fuller lives. Make the most out of every second of every day. Open your eyes. Do not look but genuinely see.

Wilderness Survival Master Class: https://www.tombrown3.com/wilderness-...
Tom Brown III, also known as T3, has practiced and taught ancient arts, ancestral living skills, wilderness survival, tracking, and nature observation since he grew up in the New Jersey woods. T3 began his journey in outdoor education as the son of Tom Brown, Jr (America's most acclaimed outdoorsman, and a renowned tracker, teacher, author and founder of the Tracker Wilderness Survival School.) It is from this upbringing that T3 developed a deep reverence and respect for wild places and the ancient skills our ancestors used to live close to the land. T3 has spent the last 20 years passing on the skills he learned from childhood.
