Bidston hill in Wirral, Merseyside is a beautiful nature reserve.

In this drone footage video we take a trip around the famous windmill and observatory to show you the amazing landscape.

Rebuilt in 1800 to replace the old windmill that was there, it is now a tourist attraction and a popular walking route.

The hill is also home to Bidston observatory which was built in 1866. The grade II listed building became the leading authority on tidal predictions.

Bidston Observatory was deemed of national importance during the Second World War and predicted the tides for the D-Day landings amongst other things. In 1969, the telescopes housed in the observatory, which were previously used to watch planetary bodies in order to calculate the exact time, were donated to Liverpool museum.
