We come to know about Ayub AS (Job), that in his early days of life, he was blessed with all sorts of material comforts. Such as wealth, property, magnificent houses, children, servants, and attendants. But in his later life, he was faced with a tough trial.

He was deprived of all these blessings and he was confronted with terrible disease, which was somewhat like Leprosy and affected his whole body, except his heart and tongue. His family, friends, neighbors, all avoided him and placed him near a garbage dump outside the city.

No one but one of his wives stayed with him. In this time of distress, he concentrated all his mind and efforts in remembering Allah. He remained for years, in this condition.

And then one day, he besieged Allah, in the most sublime and humble way. Allah, pain has touched me. And you are the Most Merciful of all the merciful.

His prayer was granted, and he was told to rub his feet on the ground, and a stream of fresh and clear water gushed forth. Then he was told to bathe in that water and also drink it. And this cured his disease gradually.

And then Allah SWT restored to him, all his wealth and children, but this time he gave it double the amount he had before. And his children were also double in number. The slaves of Allah, who are patient in adversity, are given more blessings than they had before.
