Verse 1–2:
These opening verses contain the disjointed letters (Ḥā Mīm, ʿAyn Sīn Qāf) — known only to Allah in their true meaning. They symbolize the miraculous nature of the Qur’an, made from the same letters humans use, yet beyond human power to imitate.

Verse 3:
Allah declares that the revelation of this Qur’an is from the Almighty, the All-Wise, emphasizing that this message is not from man but from the Lord who is both powerful in might and perfect in wisdom.

Verse 4:
To Allah belongs everything in the heavens and the earth. He is Most High and Great, reminding humankind of His supreme authority and that everything is under His control.

Verse 5:
The heavens nearly burst apart from above in awe of Him, and the angels glorify their Lord with praise and seek forgiveness for those on earth. This verse shows the deep reverence of angels for Allah and His mercy upon creation.

Verse 6:
Those who take protectors besides Allah — Allah watches over them and records their deeds. This highlights that no one can escape His knowledge, and false gods have no power.

Verse 7:
The Qur’an is revealed in clear Arabic so that the Prophet ﷺ may warn the Mother of Cities (Makkah) and those around it, and to remind people of the Day of Gathering, where some will go to Paradise and others to Hell.

Verse 8:
If Allah had willed, He could have made all people one community, but in His wisdom, He allows whom He wills to receive mercy. The wrongdoers will have no protector or helper.

Verse 9:
Do they take others besides Allah as protectors? Allah alone is the True Protector, and He gives life to the dead and has power over all things. This final verse in the section reinforces Tawheed (oneness of Allah) and His absolute authority.
