Shri Shri 1008 Yogiraj Swami Mohan Dass Ji Maharaj was a fully enlightened spiritual master and a great Yogi of the highest order who had mastered Khechri Mudra and attained the exalted state of Nirvikalpa Samadhi. This is the highest Samadhi described in the Yogic texts in which a Yogi transcends his individual identity and experiences oneness with the existence, just as a drop merges in the Ocean and becomes Ocean itself.

Swami Mohan Dass set up his ashrams at Jalandhar in Punjab, Jaipur in Rajasthan, Haridwar in Uttarakhand in India and Brampton (Canada).

On 22nd July 2013, the auspicious day of Guru Pooja (Vyas Pooja), when thousands of devotees assembled at Jalandhar Ashram for celebrating the occasion, Sri Shri 1008 Yogiraj Swami Mohan Dass Ji Maharaj declared her his successor to the Guru Gaddi. She was formally initiated as per sanyasa traditions of India. She got her family name changed from Soma Rani to her religious name Soma Devi. As she vowed to treat all the devotees with equanimity, affection and love of a mother, she got the devout affix “Guru Maa” added to her new name “Soma Devi”. She has kept her vow intact till date as every devotee receives and enjoys her boon and affection impartially in equal measure.

शारीरिक रूप से बेशक मैं आपमें न रहूँ परन्तु मैं आपमें, रहूँगा। मेरा आशीर्वाद तो सदैव आपके साथ रहेगा ही। जब भी कोई मुझे ह्रदय से पुकारेगा मझे अपने पास पायेगा। आश्रम में मेरी उपस्थिति आप हर समय पाएंगे। मेरी गद्दी पर जो बैठेगा वो मेरा ही रूप होगा।

Baba Mohandass Trust, registered under the Public Trust Registration Act 1950 was formed on February 25, 2008 under the consent, directions and signatures of Swami Mohan Dass Ji Maharaj.

Baba Mohandass Trust has been established with a long term vision to carry out Baba Ji’s mission and fulfilling certain objectives that include maintaining all the Ashrams (Jalandhar, Haridwar, Jaipur, Canada) set up by Swami Ji, making them accessible to the devotees and the general public for daily Darshan without any bias or distinction of gender, caste, colour and creed. The focus is on serving whole humanity through love, humility and selfless service.

In terms of religious activities and services, the Trust is instrumental in organising and celebrating various festivals like Guru Poornima, Janmasthmi, Navratri pujan, Gopashtami (Celebration of Babaji's birthday), Hanuman Jayanti, Shivratri and many other religious occasions. Also, several programmes of Bhajan recitals and Satsangs are held in all the Ashrams run under the Trust. Mass chanting of Hanuman chalisa and Gayatri mantra is also organised for devotees from time to time.

It is worth mentioning here for the benefit of donation contributors that the Trust holds Income Tax Exemption Certificate u/s 80-G, bearing No. THN/CIT-III/80-G/136/2009-10/1314, dated: 19/08/2009 Valid in Perpetuity from 01/10/2009 onwards and Circular No. 7/2010 (F No.197/21/2010-ITA-1), Dated 27.10.2010.
