Discover the Beauty of Sukkot in Jerusalem - Feast of Tabernacles
This 7 day biblical holiday begins September 29th, 2023. Let me take you on a fun Sukkot adventure through the streets of Jerusalem.

In this video, you will see a shelter set up on people's balconies, outside apartment buildings, and outside of restaurants. Sukkah is the Hebrew word for booth, tabernacle, or temporary shelter. Therefore, Sukkot (plural form of sukkah) is also known as the Feast of Booths or the Feast of Tabernacles.

In the book of Nehemiah, we see that the Lord commanded the Israelites to build temporary shelters to live in during Sukkot. Many Jewish people build a sukkah to gather for meals and daily activities for the entire seven-day feast.

"'They found written in the Law, which the Lord had commanded through Moses, that the Israelites were to live in temporary shelters during the festival of the seventh month and that they should proclaim this word and spread it throughout their towns and in Jerusalem: "Go out into the hill country and bring back branches from olive and wild olive trees, and from myrtles, palms and shade trees, to make temporary shelters"-as it is written. (Nehemiah 8:14-15)
