হুইল চেয়ার ছাড়া তার বাকি সময় কাটছে বিছানায়। সঙ্গী মানসিক ও শারীরিক যন্ত্রণা। গত ২০ জুলাই বিকেলে রুহুল বাসায় ফেরার পথে আন্দোলনরত ছাত্র-জনতা, আওয়ামীলীগ নেতা-কর্মী ও পুলিশেরত্রিমুখী সংঘ'র্ষে আটকা পড়েন। তখন একটি গু'লি ডান পায়ের হাঁটুর নিচে বিদ্ধ হলে জ্ঞাণ হারান তিনি। এতে তার পায়ের হাড় দুটো ভেঙে যায়। রুহুল আমিনের দাবি, এখন পর্যন্ত সরকারের পক্ষ থেকে কেউ তার খোঁজ নেয়নি। পাননি কোন সহায়তাও।
