Today's video covers a tibialis posterior muscle release technique that can help reduce tibialis posterior muscle pain. Tibialis Posterior is a relatively small muscle that runs along the inside of the lower leg. This muscle acts to invert and plantarflex the ankle and helps support the arch of the foot. Pain in the muscles along the inside of the lower leg can occur with posterior shin splints, calf strains, tibialis posterior tendinopathy and arch related issues, like plantar fasciopathy.

It’s important to also incorporate exercises that target tibialis posterior and the other muscles in this compartment. My video below and the shin splints program in my book will teach you some of the best exercises.
