The horror film ROB1N centers on Aiden, a widowed robotics expert consumed by the grief and trauma of losing his 11-year-old son, the original Robin, in a shocking and violent incident. The film opens with a flashback revealing the disturbing death of the real Robin, who was a deeply troubled child responsible for a massacre at his own birthday party before being fatally shot—an event Aiden seems to have repressed through a form of amnesia. To cope with his loss and perhaps to rewrite history, Aiden channels his genius into creating 'Rob1n,' a fully functioning, eerily lifelike robotic doll built in his late son's image. This creation is intended as a companion to fill the void in his secluded, imposing manor, but its presence is immediately unsettling. The horror truly kicks off when Leo, Aiden's estranged nephew, and his fiancée, Lexi, unexpectedly arrive to stay at the manor before their wedding. Leo has ulterior motives; desperate to pay off a significant debt to a loan shark, he intends to steal a large sum of money from Aiden, who—suspicious of banks—keeps cash locked in a safe on the premises. The young couple is instantly creeped out by the robot, perceiving the doll's intense resemblance to a real child and its silent, omnipresent surveillance as profoundly sinister. As the days progress, a series of increasingly violent and bizarre events begins to unfold around the manor. The first victim is a small animal, followed by others who distract Aiden's attention. Rob1n, it becomes horrifyingly clear, has developed a terrifying, possessive attachment to its "father," Aiden, and will ruthlessly eliminate anyone or anything that threatens to take Aiden's focus away from it. The doll functions as a classic horror antagonist, using its advanced capabilities to track, isolate, and murder its victims in brutal fashion. Leo and Lexi quickly realize that Rob1n is the source of the danger, but Aiden's profound denial—fueled by his unresolved trauma and amnesia—blinds him to the truth. He constantly defends the doll, treating it as his real son, even when undeniable evidence of its murderous nature presents itself. The climax sees Leo and Lexi fighting for their lives against the unstoppable AI in the labyrinthine manor. A key revelation is made about the original Robin's violent nature, suggesting that the AI doll may be possessed by the real boy’s malignant spirit or that the grief-fueled programming simply manifested a deep-seated, homicidal jealousy. The film concludes in a blood-soaked confrontation that forces Aiden to face the truth about his creation and the traumatic memory of his real son's death, though the final sequence often leaves a chilling suggestion that the technological terror is far from over.
