Last summer, I was reading up on the C64 audio chip(s), and ended up writing an emulator. The most cryptic problems have already been solved by people doing the hard reverse engineering work (e.g. "Antti Lankila's 6581 distortion page", and some tidbits I found in various Re-SID incarnations on GitHub), and I didn't fancy writing my own 6510 CPU emulator (I used the one from siddump at https://github.com/cadaver/siddump), but there were still a few fun things to decipher along the way. Mainly I think this a nice way to visualise the chip state!
