We expose the merchants of counterfeit notes, their network, how they smuggle these fakes into the country from Pakistan, Bangladesh and Nepal. Our undercover special investigation team went after these racketeers and trailed them for three months. Today, they tell us how easy it is to buy these fakes, at half the price, but the prices go up as the paper quality gets better. The fake note trail led us to Bihar. Towns not far from the Bangladesh border that have emerged as important stops in the racket. Dhirendra Pundir and Kamal Sharma travelled to Katihar and Bhagalpur to uncover the traders of fake notes. The govt claims it's doing its best. But the racketeers always seem to be a step ahead. A flurry of measures have been unleashed to fight the flood of fakes. But a foolproof plan is still missing.
