Golf Course Architecture 101: Hummocks as Hazards (ft. Inverness Club)

At Donald Ross-designed Inverness Club, small artificial mounds serve as hazards on several holes. Andrew Green, who restored the course in 2017, argues that these hummocks offer forgiveness to average golfers while challenging the skill set of the scratch player.
