University heads talked about the future of their institutions and higher education from a Southern California perspective.

USC President Steven B. Sample moderated the panel, which included Gene D. Block, chancellor of UCLA; Jean-Lou Chameau, president of Caltech, and Michael V. Drake, chancellor of the University of California, Irvine.

USC Rossier School of Education Dean Karen Symms Gallagher provided the introduction, and University Professor and Director of the Center for Higher Education Policy Analysis (CHEPA) William G. Tierney gave opening and closing remarks.

The annual Pullias Lecture is dedicated to the late Earl V. Pullias, who was Professor Emeritus of Higher Education at USC and established the university's Department of Higher and Postsecondary Education. It is hosted by the Center for Higher Education Policy Analysis (CHEPA) and the USC Rossier School of Education.
