KL to Hat Yai via Padang Besar by Train

The Hat Yai Thailand Shuttle train from Padang Besar to Hat Yai Thailand has resumed in July 2022. Travel to Hat Yai by train is very fast and convenient. So I decided to take the 5 hour ETS train from Kuala Lumpur Train Station to Padang Besar and then from Padang Besar to Hat Yai Thailand.

You can book the return train tickets for the ETS train with the KTMB Mobile app. The Shuttle train ticket to Hat Yai Thailand can only be purchased at the Padang Besar train station.

The train tickets from KL to Padang Besar was RM105 one way. From Padang Besar to Hat Yai was RM7 or 50 THB (you can pay with either currency). The train departs from Padang Besar to Hat Yai Thailand at 9.55am and 4.40pm (Malaysian time).

I used the Thailand telco (DTAC) esim with 15GB data at 4G speed throughout my 5 days' stay in Hat Yai Thailand. Highly recommended as it is only RM29 valid for 16 days, this is cheaper than buying the esim in Hat Yai Thailand. Check it out at https://esimfortravel.com/product/tha...
