After finally freeing himself from the crashed helicopter, Super Dad decides enough is enough and he's going to explore this (surely final) cave, dammit.
He sprints into the darkness, only illuminated from his trusty and thankfully exploitable rebreather. Almost immediately, he runs head-first into a cowman, dipping right at the last moment and continuing to charge the shadows.
The cowman responds by stomping furiously, before turning and making grounds on Super Dad's panicked heels.
SD spots a small lake, and tests the depths by jumping into it. As he swims to the shore a short distance away, he smiles, believing he has outwitted the hapless creature.
He was wrong.
The mutant, in turn, runs instead around the lake and catches up to our hero, forcing him to dive straight back in to the murky lake to contemplate his next move.

He watches the cowman for a moment, now ramming its head into the cave wall, before hearing another one somewhere in the back. He turns around, sure enough, another cowman lurks in the darkness, patiently waiting his turn.
Super Dad decides the creature is stupid enough to take head on, and lines up for an onslaught of spears. He was not prepared for the mutants apparent ignorance to the attack, nor the hilarity of the spears bouncing off upon hitting it.
After making short work of the cowman, he begins restocking on spears and throwing on some warm threads (that water was chilly!). Now for the next cowman...

Super Dad spots it quickly, then - lining up another shot with the spear - successfully launches it straight between the mutants legs. Dammit. He lines up again, this time it sails just left of the beast, this time enraging it. Double dammit.
With the wall of death enclosing on him, SD tries to dip out of the way to no avail, instead getting thrown to his butt. He takes in the view for a moment, before realising the cowman ran into the lake.
Excitedly, he scrambled to his feet, just in time to watch the mutant eject itself from the water like it was on jets, to come crashing down in a belly-flop onto the shore next to our baffled hero. Super Dad backs away, unsure of what other *&!@#$ physics it's gonna abuse, before watching it collapse dead where it landed.
Both intrigued and confused, he approaches the corpse, espying an object roll in the distance in his peripherals.
Now completely lost from the panic, SD attempts to search for the rolled object, fearing its a baby mutant....
