Madeleine Eastoe as The Sugar Plum Fairy | Marquee TV

Former Australian Ballet principal Madeleine Eastoe dances the iconic Dance of The Sugar Plum Fairy in The Australian Ballet’s production of The Nutcracker. The magical ‘bells’ heard in the music are played by an instrument called the celesta which was invented just before Tchaikovsky wrote the piece. When he first heard the new instrument he knew it would be perfect to accompany the dazzling Sugar Plum Fairy in his new work.
