In this video, I present my research project on the misuse of biometric data and its long-term consequences. Biometrics such as fingerprints, facial scans, and voice patterns are now used daily for unlocking phones, banking, and authentication. But unlike passwords, biometric traits cannot be changed once stolen — making misuse permanent.

This short presentation summarises the aim of my research, the mixed-methods approach I used (survey + literature review), and the key findings from expert sources including NIST (2022), the EU AI Act, Blundell’s ethical principles, and recent biometric security studies.

I also share public concerns gathered from my survey, including identity theft, surveillance, lack of trust, and ethical issues around using biometrics on children and vulnerable groups.
