In this creative short film /music video, composer and pianist Jennifer Thomas plays the role of the wind doll Clara who performs her epic piano cover of "Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy" while the toys awaken and creative mischief in the toymaker's shop while he is away.

When Glen Gabriel and I worked on the orchestration of this song a year ago, we joked about how it sounded like toys making mischief while the toymaker was away. I thought long and hard about this concept and formed a storyline in my head of how this could work. I wasn't sure how to make the toys come to life though - animation? Claymation? CGI? But in the end, I had the idea to use real life dancers to portray the characters.

SO much work went into this video. My husband and I built the toy theater (you can see my vlog on that), I personally found and handpicked all of the figurines. Everything from the costumes, the characters, the props and locations - all handpicked with care.

A fun tidbit about this video - my entire family got to be in it. See if you can spot everyone? :)
