The story begins with

The Century of Consequences, a period where the planet crosses critical Global Warming thresholds.

Earth's great systems, like the ice sheets of Greenland and West Antarctica, begin an irreversible collapse. This influx of freshwater causes the Atlantic circulation (AMOC) to falter, plunging Northern Europe into a localized ice age while scorching the Southern Hemisphere with lethal heatwaves. The chaos leads to the collapse of the Amazon rainforest and the release of dormant viruses from the thawing permafrost.





This leads to The Scarcity Society. Humanity enters an era of conflict over dwindling water and resources after aquifers that took millennia to fill were pumped dry in generations. Complex global supply chains shatter, advanced electronics become impossible to manufacture, and society enters a "great simplification". In this broken world, a tiny elite retreats into fortified arcologies, leaving the vast majority to become scavengers in the wasteland.

Finally, we arrive in the year 2500 on an Alien

Earth. The Amazon is now a desert, and the tropics are too hot for unprotected human life. Humanity itself has diverged into two species: the tech-dependent "Pures" and the resilient "Adapts" on the surface.
