A mum has described the moment hundreds of bees - initially thought to be wasps - swarmed her garden in Cornwall. Jodie Gibb, from Portreath, described them as "like a cyclone" as they flew past her home.

The mum, whose children were playing outside in a paddling pool earlier in the day, said the sound of them passing was "furious". "I have never seen anything like this before," she added. "It was frightening."

She explained how she thought the sound was some kind of electrical surge coming from outside initially. Then the noise got "louder and more furious" as hundreds of bees swarmed past her Cornwall home in surreal scenes.
