Happy Chinese New Year everyone!! This is a Chinese New Year special episode. My family had a early New Year’s Eve get together. I would like to share our Cantonese traditional meal Poon Choi 🥘, Long life noodles 🍜, and Seafood fish maw soup🦐🥘. About our meal, Poon Choi Aka Pen Cai (盆菜) is an Auspicious one-pot dish served in a very big pot (traditionally served in wooden and metal basin) during festive peiods, especially Chinese New Year. It is usually crowded with overflowing of ingredients to signify abundance of wealth and prospertity. The choice of ingredients to be added is endless. Usually includes Roast meat, duck, chicken, dried mushroom, conpoy, prawns, abalone, fish maw, broccoli, yam, etc…
Back in the days people will make their own food and gather together to eat poon choi. So each of our family members made couple of these dishes and put it together a big pot of Poon Choi this year. It was such a feast!! Some of the dishes I previously posted a recipe on my channel. Hope you enjoy watching and let’s celebrate the festival with us!! Thank you!☺️🧧
